As the most of you know, Andy was stateside for 17 days for a course he had to take in Texas. At the end of the course, instead of coming home right away, he was able to spend his last weekend with his buddies in Philly for one of his best friend's wedding. Timing couldn't have been any more perfect for Andy.
While Andy was spending the weekend in Philly, little did I know that our friends here had set up a surprise baby shower for me! Sharon ( a friend who also came from Walter Reed) and Julie (who we consider our big sister) organized it together. I was completely surprised!!
I've had some tough moments throughout this pregnancy when I've wanted to be home with family & friends and this shower made me realize what a great group of support we have here in Germany too. I feel very blessed and grateful. (Thanks again ladies for a wonderful shower!!)

On July 22nd, Andy finally came home to me! Not only was I excited but Baby Kim was jumping with joy in my belly ALL day. I think she knew her daddy was home. Or maybe that mommy was super happy. ;)
We had an OB appointment that same day (see baby update at the end of this post), he reported to his new unit on the 23rd, and then one of his best friends from home, Jamie, came to visit us at the end of her business trip to London. Saturday morning, we dropped Jamie off at the airport then headed to a farewell bbq that was for Andy & 3 others that were leaving the cardiology department at LRMC. A busy but fun filled week!!
Here are some photos from Jamie's short 2 night visit followed by the farewell party.

30 weeks down, 8 more to go!!
(Yes, I said 8 because that's what I'm hoping for.... hah!)
Today, I'm 30 weeks and 1 day!!
As I mentioned, I had an OB appointment the day Andy returned home from his trip.
During our appointment, Baby K was so active my OB questioned my caffeine intake. hah. I swear I didn't have any that day!
It was so cool to see how much she has grown over the past month - estimated to be around 3 lbs 1oz, which is right on schedule. I even got to see her head of hair (she has a little mohawk)!!
How am I feeling?
In the past week I've started to have swollen feet, ankles, and hands. Oh yeah, real sexy. Mostly in the evenings unless it's super hot out. It really sucks because it can be quite painful. My belly has definitely been growing much faster than it has before. Every week I'm significantly bigger & heavier.
My biggest issue right now is breathing. There are times where I feel like I can't take a full breath and congestion doesn't make it easier. The only time I actually do feel like I can breathe normally is when I'm working out at the gym. Yep! I'm still trying to work out - minimum 4 days a week. I won't lie, it's hard to convince myself nowadays because I feel like a whale but I'm hoping it pays off during & after pregnancy.
Overall, 3rd trimester has been a totally different experience so far and I'm becoming more and more impatient to meet this little girl!
Next appointment - 32 weeks!
