This past Thursday, we had our anatomy scan appointment and found out that our little baby is a GIRL! :)
I had to have our OB confirm once more after his sonogram tech told us it was a girl so I could silently freak out. Eek!! A part of me has been really scared about raising a girl for so many reasons but the more that I think about it, the more excited I get. At the end of the day, each sex has it's own challenges and only so much is in our control, right? For the things out of our control, I'll have to trust God just like I've trusted him throughout this pregnancy. Andy on the other hand, is ready to go get his German gun license already. Ha!!
Baby Kim was extremely active for the first half of the appointment. It was so fun watching her move. I had no idea that LRMC had 3D so that was a nice surprise! She looks much cuter in 3D.
Here are a few more pictures of her..

Today, I'm 18 weeks! A couple weeks away from being halfway through this pregnancy! :)
Time is FLYING.
How am I feeling?
Physically - While 1st trimester was a breeze, 2nd trimester has blessed me with reflux & fatigue. It's bearable though and tends to only hit me in the evening.
Emotionally - I've been pretty normal except this past week. I think my hormones got the best of me and I had some moments. One LESSON LEARNED - do NOT post anything on Facebook or the internet when I'm feeling emotional/down about something unless I want to be judged. The 'normal' me is pretty good about this but you wouldn't believe how needy I've been. (Thank you to those who caught me in my moment of weakness & sent me words of encouragement. Seriously...it helped!) It's tough when family and close friends are thousands of miles away. Must mention that Andy has been doing an amazing job giving me extra attention lately too. :)
Cravings? Food aversions?
Still can't eat carrots, tap water in Germany, and I can't stand the smell of food unless I'm eating it myself.
Sometimes I crave Korean food - mainly stuff that I used to eat as a kid. But a lot of the time I find myself not knowing what I want. I get hungry but have no appetite for the typical things I eat so I end up eating the most random things that I normally wouldn't even consider.
Movement?
I think I felt her move on Thursday after I ate lunch but I haven't felt her since so maybe not? It felt like a little butterfly fluttering in my stomach.
Belly?
I definitely have a pouch that can be questionable to some and obvious to others. On some days, like today, it's quite obvious I'm pregnant. Depending on what/how much I eat I think my belly sticks out more and I can't suck it in no matter how hard I try. Does that still make it a baby bump?
Hmm...I think that's all the info that you'd be interested to know. The rest would be TMI or boring. :)
Other than baby?
Andy & I haven't been doing anything too interesting lately. Mainly hanging out with friends locally.
It feels like we haven't taken a trip forever but it really hasn't been that long since we went to the states and skiing before that. Our next trip will be to Pisa & Cinque Terre, Italy. We're pretty excited!
Oh, one last thing before I end this post...
A few weeks ago, Andy put together our first piece for our baby's nursery. I really wanted to get one of those nice gliders but you can't find those in Europe and you can't have them shipped due to size. So, I did the next best thing and followed an awesome tutorial on how to make a modern rocking chair using an IKEA chair. Andy used the wood-shop on Ramstein Air Base to do all the handy work and then painted the rockers. I think it came out great! Had to show off his hard work - thanks hubby! :)

Okay... that's all for now. Hope you enjoyed the baby update! XOXO
