Before I start my blog post on our quick trip to Metz I have to share something a little more exciting - our new car!! :D We ordered it a few months ago through military car sales on the Air Force base and it finally arrived on friday. We can now drive to our ski trips without having to worry about our little corolla flying off the side of a cliff or the strong winds blowing us off the autobahn! :)
For the past year, I've wanted to check out an antique market that takes place in Metz, France once or twice a month but never went. I feared that I would find a large antique piece that I couldn't fit into my corolla. Well, it was just my luck that we got our Jeep on friday and the flea market was open on Saturday!! Andy wanted to break in the car a bit so it worked out for the both of us. Actually, I think he enjoyed looking around the flea market because he didn't even complain - except for when he mentioned he could've been playing golf this morning. -_-
Anyway, there were some furniture pieces that caught our attention but we ended up walking away because we were having 2nd thoughts. I was quite close to purchasing a 18th century chest! If we had a huge house, we probably would've bought some random decor pieces to fill it up. We just get too paranoid about cluttering up the house and chicken out on buying stuff. Need to just do it!!
Either way, it was worth the trip & the experience. I'm sure I'll be back again.

After our flea market trip, we headed down into the centre of Metz to walk around and grab lunch. We've been here before for a Christmas market back in 2012 with the Remo family, so it was fun to see some familiar spots.
