After almost 2 years in Germany, it was time for Andy & I to visit home, so we made plans a couple months ago to head back to Maryland/Virginia. We had so much to celebrate over the past 10 days with our family and friends - we're halfway through our tour here, April 19th is Andy & Pete's 35th birthday, and we had to share our big news with everyone!! :) If you haven't figured out what the big news is by now... I'm a little over 14 weeks pregnant!!
It was so fun telling our families the exciting news. As hard as it was for us to keep it a secret for the past few months, it was worth the wait to tell them in person.
Here are some of their priceless reactions.

The first few days were spent with my side of the family down in Richmond who probably contributed to the first few pounds Andy & I gained over our short trip. My uncle cooked up a feast for everyone. This is where I consider 'home'. I really missed this feeling and being around the most cheerful people that I know. (Thank you guys for starting our trip off right!)
During the week we were able to spend quality time with Andy's parents and meet with good friends we haven't seen for awhile. I was having so much fun meeting with friends that I forgot to snap photos with some of the friends we were able to meet up with. Nothing personal guys! It just meant I was enjoying our time together too much!
Thank you all for taking the time to meet with us. Missing in photos - Kelly, Christine, Kenny, Lauren, Helen, Matt, Harr, and Stacy. Love you guys!

The last few days of our trip were spent with Andy's side of the family in Maryland. We were all packed into Andy's sister's house for 2 nights. It was fun just hanging out with the family, especially the kiddos.
On saturday night we went out to Matchbox in Rockville to celebrate Andy & Pete's 35th birthday. Little did they know that one of their best friends, Jed, came into town from Kentucky to surprise them at dinner. They were speechless!

We had an unforgettable 10-day trip back to the states and we are so thankful to our family and friends who graciously took time out of their busy schedules to spend time with us. Andy and I are blessed to have you all in our lives. For the friends we didn't get to see, you were not forgotten and we hope to see you in the near future!
Our growing baby...
For those who haven't seen our ultrasound pictures, here are some snapshots of our growing baby. I'm amazed at how fast he/she is growing!!
